Choosing the right flooring is a big task when upgrading your kitchen. We have listed our top three selections for kitchen floors below. To learn more about any of the flooring below, speak with one of our Flooring Experts at TC Matthews.
Hardwood Flooring
In any room, hardwood flooring is a classic feature and can be installed in your dining room, living room, and kitchen. Hardwood is considered a generally durable product. The thick and solid construction of the planks make it easy to sand them down and refinish them whenever they start to show signs of wear. The warmth and softness makes it comfortable to walk on.
Some drawbacks in using hardwood in the kitchen are, it isn’t water resistant. Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause hardwood flooring to swell, warp or even split. If there is ever a leak from the dishwasher or sink that goes unattended, a section of flooring may require repair or even replacement.

Laminate Flooring
If using Laminate flooring in your kitchen, opt for a Laminate floor that is highly water-resistant, and you’ll need to ensure that seams are very tight between the planks when installing the floor. This ensures that there are no gaps and prevent moisture penetrating the core of the Laminate, which contains wood composite materials.
The joints in between the planks can also be sealed with silicon sealer to make your Laminate floors more water-resistant. Laminate is affordable, durable, easy to clean and maintain and easy to install.

Luxury Vinyl Tile
LVT, in contrast to laminate and sheet vinyl of the past few decades, is almost undetectable from natural flooring goods. It is possible to replicate the appearance and texture of genuine hardwoods, natural stone, porcelain, ceramics, and marble using cutting-edge photo-imaging technology and realism textures. In addition, luxury vinyl is a perfect substitute for natural materials because it is less expensive.
Luxury vinyl is the toughest flooring material on the market right now. It is resistant to fading and the substance is also resistant to denting, scratches, and breaking. It’s the best choice for homes with children, pets, or a lot of foot activity. LVT frequently has a lifespan of up to 50 years and is a great choice for the kitchen.
